Acupuncture and supportive bodywork for balance, recovery, and resilience
You’re probably here because you find yourself stuck in a cycle of pain and imbalance. You might have already tried to ignore it, planned to get care for a while, tried other modalities, toughed it out, and eventually felt burnt-out on trying. You heard acupuncture was worth a shot, so here you are.
I’m so glad you made it this far. There is no magic bullet in healing, but there are long-practiced techniques like acupuncture that can get you real results if you are willing to stay the course.
I am here to offer guidance, tools, and techniques to move you towards balance, but real star of the show is you, your body, and your commitment to yourself! An often un-sung treasure of this work is not only the change, management, or even resolution of symptoms, but the way you shift internally when you approach healing from a human timeline.
My mission is to help you slow down for a moment, take stock of where you are, identify where you want to go, and help you get there. I work with people who are ready to commit to their health and healing journey, knowing there is no such thing as perfect but there is certainly something better.
It would be my honor to support your journey, and I welcome you into my practice. It’s unglamorous work, but it’s beautiful work. We laugh, we cry, we nap, we heal.
I look forward to meeting you.
About
-
I’m Hannah Rosenstein, M.Ac., L.Ac., the solo practitioner behind this small acupuncture clinic in Dupont Circle. I am a DC licensed acupuncturist and board certified by the NCCAOM.
As a DC native, I’m proud to serve this community! Before becoming an acupuncturist, I spent a decade as a massage therapist specializing in prenatal care, deep tissue, and myofascial work, Core Synchronism, Reiki, and Medical Qigong. That hands-on background continues to shape my approach profoundly.
My own experiences navigating health challenges as a teenager led me to a passionate pursuit of answers. Along the way, I fell in love with acupuncture and bodywork and knew I had found my calling.
I completed training as a Natural Therapeutic Specialist at the New Mexico School of Natural Therapeutics. I began my study of acupuncture at the Jung Tao School of Classical Chinese Medicine and earned my Master of Acupuncture from Virginia University of Integrative Medicine. I continue to deepen my studies through the Tan Balance Academy, and the Integral Nutrition Institute.

I approach the healing process from a humble, intentional, curious perspective, always staying open to learning.
I primarily practice the Balance Method, which is a beautiful style of acupuncture known for creating very intentional and precise flow dynamics in the body. You can’t help but get better, because we are speaking the language of balance to your body.
I utilize my bodywork background constantly, paying close attention not only to symptoms, but also to patterns of tension, structure, movement, tissue quality, and the ways stress and lived experience can show up in the body.
-
I commonly work with:
Chronic and acute pain conditions, including neck pain, back pain, migraines, tension headaches, joint pain, and injury recovery
Stress, burnout, anxiety, and nervous system overload
Sleep difficulties, including insomnia, disrupted sleep, and exhaustion
Digestive concerns such as IBS, bloating, reflux, constipation, and stress-related digestive symptoms
Hormonal and cycle-related concerns, including menstrual pain, PMS, fertility support, peri-menopause, and menopause
Support during major life transitions, periods of overwhelm, grief, or chronic stress
Preventative and maintenance care to support long-term resilience, balance, and overall wellbeing

Each of our session begin with a check-in and a treatment selected based on what your body is presenting that day.
Recommendations for diet, lifestyle, movement, or self-care will be offered to support your progress between visits.
My treatments are designed to support the nervous system, improve circulation, reduce pain, and help the body move toward balance and regulation over time.
Each of our session begin with a check-in and a treatment selected based on what your body is presenting that day.
I also frequently make diet, lifestyle, movement, or self-care recommendations to support your progress.
Additional Tools and Techniques
When appropriate, I selectively incorporate supportive techniques such as:
• Myofascial release
• Massage therapy techniques
• ATP Resonance BioTherapy™
• Electro-acupunctureThese approaches are used alongside acupuncture when they are supportive of your goals and treatment.
Core Synchronism
In addition to acupuncture, I also offer a limited number of Core Synchronism sessions, as well as integrated Core + Acupuncture treatments.
Core Synchronism is an extremely gentle hands-on modality designed to support subtle body alignment, nervous system regulation, and trauma recovery.
-
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is my primary tool and the foundation of my practice. I highly recommend that you choose an acupuncture new patient intake as the starting point of your journey, especially if you are new to natural healing work. Patients seek acupuncture when looking for direct support around physical symptoms, chronic pain, stress-related conditions, hormonal balance, digestion, sleep, or nervous system regulation.
Core Synchronism
If you are already familiar with Core Synchronism or have received Cranio-sacral work in the past, you are welcome to start here. Rather than strongly directing the system towards balance through the channel system, Core work listens to and supports the body’s underlying rhythms and energetic organization as they arise in real time.
Core sessions are ideal for those seeking very gentle, hands-on care with an emphasis on nervous system downshifting, and subtle trauma release work. These sessions are quiet, restorative, and slow paced.
Because the work is subtle and regulating, sessions may be received weekly, biweekly, or monthly depending on your needs and goals.
Core + Acupuncture Treatments
Core + Acupuncture sessions combine the subtle, restorative nature of Core work with the more direct systemic signaling of acupuncture. If you choose to dive in here, I recommend that you be familiar with receiving deeper styles of bodywork.
These treatments may be especially supportive for those seeking a deeper reset experience, particularly when physical symptoms, emotional stress, nervous system dysregulation, and long-standing patterns are all occurring together.
Because this combination can create a profound shift within the system, these sessions are generally recommended less frequently, often around once per month.

I highly value a spirit of partnership in the therapeutic relationship and ask that you come ready to participate in your own healing.
My role is to offer the best care I can, listen carefully, reflect with you, celebrate your progress, and help you navigate setbacks along the way.
I share my professional perspective when you are considering changes that may affect your health, and I am honest about what I believe we can accomplish together.
I also value the honest expression of emotion and the connection between our emotional and physical lives. Just as stress, trauma, or prolonged strain can shape the way illness appears in the body, supportive experiences can become powerful forms of medicine.
Meaningful conversation, movement, rest, cultural experiences, time in nature, nourishing food, and what we take in through our eyes and ears all have the potential to support healing.
Healing is a process, and we approach it together with patience, clarity, and respect for your body’s capacity to change.
What to expect
-
At your first appointment, we’ll spend time going over your health history and discussing your goals. I’ll then offer my best recommendation for a treatment plan, which we will review and agree on together. You’ll also receive your first treatment.
If you choose not to start a plan, you will still be able to receive a treatment that day.
-
You’ll receive regularly scheduled acupuncture treatments typically once or twice per week during our agreed-upon course of care.
Each session begins with a brief check-in so I can adjust your treatment based on how you’re doing that day.
You will receive diet and lifestyle guidance as needed, with additional self-care support available through a dedicated online platform.

At this time, I am not in-network with any insurance providers.

Operating out-of-network allows me to create treatment plans guided by what will genuinely support your progress, rather than by the yearly visit limits often set by insurance companies.
Your Questions, Answered

This depends on your goals, symptoms, and how long the issue has been present. It’s helpful to think in terms of giving your body more time instead of less! Healing quickly is wonderful, but it’s not a failure if it takes some time.
Acute concerns usually improve more quickly, with 5-12 sessions being the norm.
Chronic conditions often require a consistent care over time, with 3-9 months being an average course.
Fertility patients usually benefit from longer-term care, with 3-6 months being very supportive. However, if you are about to have IVF or IUI and didn’t start acupuncture earlier, please know that any amount of care is helpful!

Most people are surprised by how gentle acupuncture feels. The needles used in acupuncture are are thinner than a human hair. Acupuncture needles are nothing like the needles used for injections or blood draws. Sensations can vary from person to person, but treatments are typically calming and relaxing.

ATP Resonance BioTherapy™ uses extremely low-level electrical stimulation (microcurrent) applied to specific areas of the body to support pain relief, tissue healing, and regulation of inflammation. Treatment is customized by selecting frequencies based on the type of tissue and the goals of care.
Microcurrent works by delivering electrical signals at levels similar to those naturally used by the body. This gentle stimulation is thought to support cellular communication and may encourage the body’s normal repair processes.
One proposed mechanism is support of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) production — the primary source of energy used by cells. Healthy cellular energy production is important for tissue repair, recovery, and normal function, particularly in areas under stress or healing.
This therapy is often used as a supportive tool alongside other treatments to promote comfort, recovery, and overall regulation of the nervous system and tissues.

Core Synchronism is a gentle, hands-on therapy that works with subtle rhythmic movements in the body to support relaxation, organization, and overall balance. It shares similarities with craniosacral therapy in that both approaches use light touch and emphasize listening to the body to gently encourage release and alignment.
What People Are Saying
“I found Redstone online, after urgent care and chiropractic treatment had failed to remedy severe neck pain and numbness and hyper sensitivity of skin on my scalp and neck. Hannah recommended 5 sessions, and made deliberate progress. I'm pain free and only mildly stiff; all my symptoms have abated after exactly 5 sessions. Highly recommend!”

“I saw Hannah for acupuncture during my pregnancy. She's very gifted. She helped manage my aches and pains, and also helped me to relax even at the very end when I was so uncomfortable and getting nervous about delivery. Working with her was one of the best things I did while pregnant and I would do it again in a heartbeat! 100% recommend.”

“I’d been curious about acupuncture for a long time but was always a little hesitant. Working with Hannah at Redstone Acupuncture changed that right away. She genuinely checks in about how I’m doing—physically and emotionally—and adjusts each treatment to match what’s going on that day.
I came in with chronic back pain, and the care has really helped. Some sessions have given immediate relief, while others have supported longer-term maintenance, and both have made a noticeable difference.”
— Kirk F, Google Review
“I've been seeing Hannah for a while now and she brings nothing but professionalism, attention, and expertise to her practice. She listens attentively and provides care based on her knowledge and my specific needs and experiences—nothing cookie-cutter. I initially wasn't sure if acupuncture was going to help my issues (mostly side effects from cancer treatment) but it has reduced my problems by at least 5x and even my family noticed a difference once Hannah started treating me. Her services are a great value for the impact and comfort she provides. I recommend Redstone to anyone who will listen.”
